·        RBI floats discussion paper for entry of new banks in the private sector space seeking the comments from banks, NBFCs, industrial houses and others by September 30, 2010

·        The discussion paper seeks comments on six criteria as highlighted in the table below

·        The final guidelines could be a positive for companies like Reliance Capital, Future Holding, AB Nuvo, LIC/GIC housing, broking houses not having exposure to real estate sector

·        Could be negative for financial services players with presence in real estate like Indiabulls Finance, India Infoline etc
