Economic concerns continue to dominate market sentiments

Equity markets across the world continued their downtrend this week as market sentiments dipped further. While in India, it was disappointments related to the interim budget for the financial year 2009-10 that set the market on a declining trend for this week, for most of the global markets it was an extension of last week’s disappointments with the US stimulus and bailout plans. Sentiments in key Asian markets suffered further news of the Japanese economy ontracting the most since the 1974 Oil Crisis, in the fourth quarter of 2008.
